One of the most interesting stories to come from Simcoe took place at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Throughout the summer and fall months two unidentified burglars had entered Simcoe stores, stolen valuable merchandise, rifled the store tills of their cash and in a number of cases set fire to the premises. It is a story of greed, betrayal, and murder.
