The 1860's found the shores
of Long Point filled with unscrupulous, ghoulish, opportunists.
By the 1850's the Long Point
area was rampant with brothels, severe over hunting,
and unchecked lumbering. It was a lawless country where
activities outlawed by both Canadian and American governments
continued unchecked.
Perhaps the most popular unruly
activity was the bare-knuckle Prize Fight. |
