On October 24th 1837
a letter was written to an unknown party from
Dr. Charles Duncombe concerning his distaine for
the governments of Upper Canada.
Dumcombe mustered a contingent
to go with him to Toronto to help Mackenzie and
the rebels fight. On his way he got word of Mackenzie’s
defeat and he and his men dispersed in the night
in hope of escape to the United States. |
