Harry Nixon helped form the United Farmers of Ontario, a career move that would lead him to become the Premier of Ontario.

But he is perhaps best known as the leader of the Liberal Party, a position he held in opposition for over 40 years. It is a title that between he and his son, would be held for the majority of the twentieth century.
